The founders of Amoga represent a cohort of prominent businessmen who were among the principal proponents of the erstwhile Rupee/Rouble trade, a legacy carried forward from the Soviet era, when , the Rupee/Rouble payment mechanism served as the key component for establishing an extensive trade network across Russia with India throughout the 1990s.
Notwithstanding the fact that today we deal with a new dynamic Russia, fully conversant with International Trade and having a large base of successful entrepreneurs, our old knowledge of developing trade using rupee rouble will be of immense value in the current situation.
Russia over the last 30 years moved away from purchasing Indian goods as to most of them it was a legacy of the Soviet times. Rajinder Sethi is an alumnus of St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, and embarked on his journey to a key international market in 1989, precisely during the transitional phase when significant changes were occurring. He possesses the remarkable distinction of not only witnessing the evolution from an earlier era to its modern state but also actively participating in and adapting to the ever-evolving dynamics of this international landscape.
Although he relocated from this market in 2015, Mr. Sethi has maintained his enduring engagement, marked by frequent visits each year. This sustained connection emphasizes his unwavering commitment to fostering enduring relationships and expanding opportunities in the global market.
